Benora Deming, 83

 

Benora (Benny) Elaine Deming, 83, of Glenwood, MN, formerly of Alexandria, MN, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2016, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will take place at Lakeside, Glenwood, MN, on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Burial for both Benny and her husband, Robert (Bob) Deming, will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Osakis, MN. Charles Fogelson, 61

 

Charles Todd Fogelson, 61, of Garvin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 18, 2016 at his residence in Garvin.  Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home in Tracy.  Burial was in the Tracy City Cemetery immediately following the service.  Online condolences may be placed at www.almlie-horvath.com.  The Almlie-Horvath Funeral Service of Tracy is caring for the family.

Charles Todd Fogelson was born on Sunday, March 28, 1954 to Willard and Glenna (DesLauriers) Fogelson in Tracy, Minnesota.   He grew up in Currie until the age of 12 when he moved to Iowa for one year.  He then returned to Garvin, Minnesota and graduated from Tracy High School in 1972. 

After graduation, Charles moved to Mankato, Phoenix, Arizona, and Florida, before returning to Minnesota and making his home in Garvin.  

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Linda (Larry) Bruns of Garvin, Douglas Fogelson of Currie, Dale (Mary) Fogelson of Surprise, AZ, William (Dorothy) Fogelson of Ivanhoe, and Jerry (Patricia) Fogelson of Milroy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Glenna, and an infant brother and sister.

 

George Sanderson, 82

 

Funeral services for George Sanderson, 82 of Slayton, MN were held at Totzke Funeral Home Slayton, MN on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 with Fr. Gregory Parrott officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery Currie, MN.

George Sanderson, the son of Roy and Wendelena (Pack) Sanderson, was born on October 22, 1933 in Walnut Grove, MN. He grew up in Walnut Grove where he attended school.

George was united in marriage to Janet Deslauriers on October 10, 1953 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Currie, MN. He then entered the United States Army in 1953 and served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955. They lived in Tracy where George worked as a carpenter then worked at A & D Hatching for 10 years until it closed. He then worked as a meat cutter at Super Value and Fareway in Tracy for 20 years.

In 1968 they moved to Currie after the tornado in Tracy took their home. George had a locker plant in Tracy for a year until he had to leave due to health problems.

George passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Slayton, MN at the age of 82. He was a member of IHM Catholic Church in Currie. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, hunting, playing cards, puzzles and bird watching.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Sanderson of Currie, MN; 5 children, DeEtte (Rick) Platt of Iona, MN, Cynthia (Tom) Bomgaars of Worthington, MN, Barb Tesch (Bob Masiniak) of Duluth, MN, Paul Sanderson (Sue York) of Wasilla, AK and Kathy (Dennis) Olson of Ruthton, MN; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Judy (Patrick) Donahue of Mt. Carmel, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Marvin Sanderson.
