She and Thomas Lasnetske were married November 16, 1940.  They were scheduled to be married on November 11th, however, The Armistice Day Blizzard intervened.  Five days later they were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy, Minnesota.  The couple lived on several different farms, Tom working as a hired hand.  They moved to Minneapolis in 1943, with their two children; Tom was employed at Gamble/Robinson delivering fruit throughout the cities.  Missing the country life, they moved back to Tracy in 1948, farming with Madalyn’s father.  Moving to the Milroy area in 1953, the family farmed for five years.  In 1958, they left the farm and moved to Tracy.  Besides working for the Tri-County Co-op as the tire man, they built and operated Tom’s Drive In, now the site of the Tracy School Bus Garage.

Madalyn worked in the lunch room at the Elementary School across the road, later as the Head Cook for the High School Lunch Room for eighteen years.

In retirement, they were caregivers for several family members, Tom died in 2002 after a stroke two years earlier.  Madalyn moved to Twin Circle Apartments, later to O’Brien Courts and eventually to Prairie View Healthcare Center.  She enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, praying for everyone with her rosary, playing cards and playing tricks on people.  She especially enjoyed Halloween.

Madalyn is survived by her daughters Connie (Wayne) Anderson of Tracy, Karen (Danny) Silvers, of Hanover Tsp., Pennsylvania; sons Lee Lasnetske, of Luverne, Minnesota and James (April) Lasnetske , of Whitewood, SD, South Dakota; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; brother Arthur Keleher of Currie, Minnesota
