The Tracy City Council on Monday received a breakdown of task orders for the airport and municipal projects from Bollig Engineering.
For the airport, T-Hangar construction is well underway, with the building slab poured and the steel structure erected; roof insulation and panels are being installed. Hangar doors will be installed after the taxilane paving is laid.
The general contractor is targeting early September for project completion.
Unforeseen soil conditions under a section of the new taxilane required a change order that has been approved by the council. Once this remediation is completed, final grading and paving can begin. Completion is anticipated by early September.
A task order was required to gather survey data for the runway reconstruction project.
No work has been needed in the last few months so no invoices have been submitted.
Runway planning and field studies are needed to gather data needed for the upcoming Environmental Assessment, which is required by FAA prior to runway reconstruction. This work includes defining the need and Federal Aviation Administrationapproved justification for the project, documenting impacted waters on site, determining permitting requirements, and identifying endangered or threatened species potentially impacted by the work.
The FAA is reviewing the data gathered and submitted to them and Bollig will wait for their comments and direction on the project’s next steps.
The City has been offered a grant from MnDOT to update the fuel system card reader to a chip system to prevent fraud at the fuel pump. The application for this improvement is due Nov. 28. The estimated local share is $12,000.
