In response to the severe storm that impacted the area on Friday, July 18, the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) has launched a Disaster Recovery Fund to support individuals and families affected by the disaster.
This fund is designed to help alleviate the challenges faced by those impacted. UWSWMN is developing a grant process to support community- based recovery efforts and provide assistance where it is most needed.
“We know how devastating this storm has been for many in our community,” said Meg Louwagie, CEO of United Way of Southwest Minnesota. “Supporting our neighbors in times of crisis is one of the core missions of our work in Community Resiliency. Our goal is to provide meaningful support to help people begin to rebuild and recover.”
UWSWMN is actively seeking partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to assist in recovery efforts. Monetary donations are urgently needed to ensure the fund can meet the growing needs of those affected.
