CAMP S’MORES WAS IN SESSION from July 7-25, back in the elementary building after spending the last two summers in the VMC because of construction at the school. This year, 70 students took part with nine staff members supervising: teachers Amber Tietz, Shelbi Grimley, Susan Meyer, Billy Dean, Sam Prahm and Lucas Novosad; and paras Donna Caron, Mai Thor and Kristina Daniels. Students rotated throughout the day in reading, math, art, social studies/science, large motor, and STEM activities, and an outdoor picnic fun day was held July 22. Student choice activities included: playing large motor games like “Capture the Flag,” water play and exploration, using magnifying glasses to study nature and participating in music activities with special guest teacher Mrs. Benson. Students made S’mores over a campfire thanks to donations from Sanford Tracy. Submitted photos
