The family of Menno Fokken has memorialized him through Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Food Stand improvements. Menno’s wife, Lucillie, son, Mark, and daughter, Sara, received a plaque in his honor at this year’s Yellow Medicine County Fair.

Cathy Hoffbeck, pastor of the Lamberton, Sanborn and Jeffers United Methodist church, was included in a July 28 ATV accident in Redwood County. Hoffbeck received critical injuries in the accident and was flown from the scene to North Memorial Hospital.

The Tyler Police Department recently honored Tyler resident Ely Skogrand with a Civilian Service Award after he assisted police in a dispute between an individual and an officer outside his home.
