Miranda Mischke (22:21) and Lainey Jackels (23:17) both finished in the Top 5 in their grade level for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook- Walnut Grove, with Mischke taking ninth place overall with a PR at the tough Yellow Medicine East Invitational on Tuesday.
Evelyn Rentschler finished 72nd with a time of 31:00.
Running in the JV/C-squad were Payton Daniels (16:13), Gracelynn Struchen (12:40), Jaeda Nelson 14:50) and Stella Munson (14:30).
On the boys’ side Noah Schmidt (23:49) finished in the Top 7 with a new season record time, about 10 seconds off his PR. TMB/ WWG’s top five boys consisting of Jaxter Pfarr (20:30), Taylor Squires (20:43), Weston Marten (20:51), Jackson Jenniges (21:18), and Logan Petersen (22:17) all finished in the top half of the 103-runner race.
Owen Beier (23:27), Owen Maguire (25:59), Tyson Petersen (24:59), Zach Jones (25:59), and Adam Hippe (33:05) all ran a strong race as well for the varsity. Gatlin Struchen led the way for the JV/C-race runners with a time of 10:27. Xander Brinkley (12:09), Trajan Swanjord (13:52) and Cohen Radke (19:05) also ran a solid race.
• The TMB/WWG boys finished fourth at a meet in Renville last Thursday, just three points out of third place.
Five Panthers had a number of PRs — Marten (19:42); Pfarr (19:42); Squires (20:08); Petersen (21:58); and Owen Beier (22:02). Other finishers for the boys were Jackson Jenniges (21:08); Schmidt (25:20); Maguire (25:22); and Hippe (32:32).
For the Panther girls, Mischke took eighth place with a time of 22:38 and Jackels was 12th at 22:51.
For the junior varsity (3,890 meters), Tyson was third with a PR time of 17:54; Jones had a PR of 19:26, and Radke ran a 36:11. Struchen finished with a time of 25:14; Nelson ran a PR time of 25:52 and Daniels finished at 31:13.
For the C team (1,865 meters), Gatlin Struchen had a PR time of 8:15; Swanjord ran a 12:11 and Munson finished in 9:49.
“Cohen ran tough for the JV, and Gatlin and Trajan ran a great race with the junior high,” TMB coach Billy Dean said. “Payton and Gracelynn ran very well in the JV race, and Stella gave a great effort in the junior high race.”
The Panthers have three regular-season meets left, with a race in Redwood Falls this Thursday. They travel to Luverne on Oct. 2 and finish up at Adrian on Oct. 7. The Camden Conference Meet is on Oct. 14 at Lakeview (Cottonwood), and the Sectoin Meet is in Madison on Oct. 23.
