There’s a new food option coming to Tracy.

“Get in Mah Belly,” a one-time food truck business owned and operated by Genevieve Saniti-Moudry and her partner, William Moudry, has put down stakes in the kitchen of the Tracy Eagles Club.

“Get in Mah Belly” will open inside the building on Oct. 11.

Saniti-Moudry has a rich, personal history in the food business, going all the way back to when she was 4 years old. Cooking and baking has been a huge part of her life ever since.

Saniti-Moudry, who came to the area from Cedar, north of the Twin Cities, eventually graduated from culinary school at St. Paul College and last November, started her food truck. A variety of factors, ranging from the expense of operating a food truck, to all the travel, meant her food truck experiment last only until this past July. That’s when she came in contact with Eagles President Jeremy Trulock, and the two of them came to an agreement where Saniti-Moudry, who lives in Marshall, would lease the Eagles’ kitchen.

With the closing to Thee Old Bank last year, Saniti-Moudry believes she is ready to offer a community starving for more dining options a tasty one. Her menu ranges from her Prime Rib Philly to a burger and taco bar. She will also have a senior menu and a kids’ menu.

Much of Saniti-Moudry’s menu could be described as comfort food, most all of it made from scratch, including her adult grilled cheese sandwich. She also plans on offering delivery and catering services to the area.

But all this takes a ton of work, which Saniti-Moudry is quite used to. When asked how many hours a week she works, her reply is a quick and simple one: “All of them!” she laughs.

“I like to see people happy when they eat,” Saniti-Moudry said. “And I like to present food — you eat with your eyes first.”

Saniti-Moudry’s hours will be 5-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday.

Serendipity is the best work to describe how Saniti-Moudry has found herself at the Eagles Club. She and Eagles President Jeremy Trulock happened to be at Bitton’s Roadhouse recently at the same time.

“She asked if we were looking for help and I said, absolutely,” Trulock said. “I was putting new pull tabs in the machine, and she and her significant other were there!”

Trulock sees this enterprise as a win-win for everyone.

“I think it’s going to be a good deal for the Eagles,” he said. “I’m excited. I think it’s going to be beneficial for the Eagles Club and her. I’ve never eaten her food, so I’m super excited to try it. And it’s going to be another place (to eat) downtown at night.”

The Eagles will continue to offer its steak night the first Friday every month, as well as its Thanksgiving meal.
