TRAIL’S EDGE ON SUNDAY HOSTED A CHILI FEED FUNDRAISER FOR NOBLES COUNTY DEPUTY LOGAN WALDNER (RIGHT), who is recovering from an April 13 accident on Interstate 90 near Worthington. Waldner was seriously injured when the patrol car he was in was rear-ended by a driver who was speeding and on her cellphone, according to published reports. Waldner suffered a traumatic brain injury, and had three brain bleeds and two major strokes. He spent 28 days in an ICU in a coma state and was transferred to a rehab center in Omaha, NE. He has a wife, Amber, and two young children. After surgery to reattach part of his skull that was scheduled for last month, he’s hoping to be back home in January. The driver, a 63-year-old woman, was going more than 80 mph and was charged with criminal vehicular operation. A number of his law enforcement colleagues stopped by Trail’s Edge to show their support at the fundraiser that raised more than $5,300. Submitted photo
