HUNDREDS OF AREA CHILDREN HAD

HUNDREDS OF AREA CHILDREN HAD A FALL BLAST at Saturday’s Friends of Lake Shetek State Park and Currie Town & Country Boosters’ 19th Annual Pumpkin Festival at Lake Shetek State Park. There were all kinds of things to do at the event, including pumpkin decorating, face painting and enjoying s’mores. Clockwise, from upper left, McCoy Brandt of Northfield shows pride in his one-eyed pumpkin — he is the grandson of Duane and Laurie Maeyaert of Lake Shetek; Scarlett Kalas of Slayton holds steady as Clara Constantine paints another pumpkin on her face; James Brandt of Tracy was a big fan of the s’more he made over an open fire; a group of excited girls get ready to pounce on a large pile of leaves as the countdown began for the hunt for prizes, as 30 bouncy balls were hidden inside the leaf pile.
