FALL (& LEAVES) WERE IN THE AIR

LAKE SHETEK STATE PARK was the place to be for Saturday’s 19th Annual Pumpkin Festival, sponsored by the Friends of Lake Shetek State Park and Currie Town & Country Boosters. The event included pumpkin decorating, face painting, s’mores and, of course, the largest leaf pile in the area; it was made up of 35 1-ton loads of fallen leaves and was home to 30 small, bouncy balls that could be collected for a prize. ABOVE: Andi Nawrocki, 2-1/2, nearly got lost in all the leaves as she searched for a ball. Andi is the daughter of Erin Spartz-Nawrocki of the Slayton/Iona area. RIGHT: 6-year-old Emily Wildfeuer of Currie frantically searched through the leaves. Please see Page 10 for more images. Photos
