Balaton: 11 a.m. at the Balaton Community Center. The guest speaker is Mike Schaffer, a past State Commander of American Legion and a member of the Currie American Legion Post. Breakfast for all veterans and their families will be served from 8-10:30 a.m. at Balaton One Stop, provided by One Stop and Balaton’s Stone and Groeneweg American Legion Post #237.
Tracy: 10:30 a.m. at Tracy Area High School. The TAHS band and choir will perform, and Supt. Chad Anderson will give the Veterans’ Day presentation and will honor past service members Gale Otto, Ward Heronimus and Duane (Swede) Campbell. The annual turkey dinner will be furnished from noon-1:30 p.m. at the Tracy American Legion Post.
Slayton: 2:15 p.m. at MCC High School. All veterans escorted by fourth-grade students. The guest speaker is Bob Veenhuis, who served in the U.S. Navy from 1980-2000. The high school band and choir will perform, and the elementary school students will perform the National Anthem. A reception will take place after, with refreshments being served by the MCC Minnesota Honor Society members.
