The Westbrook-Walnut Grove School Board awarded plans for parking lot replacement; the winning bid was $548,849 from Concrete Construction Inc. out of Edgerton.

Tyler Tribute

The proposed levy for Lincoln County currently it’s at 8.69%, with a goal of 6%. It was initially set at 9%.

Ivanhoe Times

Concerns about a bridge in Royal Township on Lincoln County Road 17 north of Ivanhoe were brought up at a recent county board meeting. County board member Joe Drietz said a number of semis are using the bridge, and the county’s highway engineer said some pylons that support the bridge are in poor shape.

Minneota native Valeri (Miller) Scheps has written a book in honor of her mother, Loralee. The book is titled, “She Didn’t Pout About it Much.”

Murray County 4-H has received a $4,000 donation from Corteva Agriscience as part of their company sponsorship program. The funds will be used for the Building Leaders in Murray County program.

Red Rock Central’s drama department will present its fall musical “Bye, Bye Birdie: Youth Edition” on Nov. 7-8.

Springfield Advance-Press

The SDSU Concert Choir presented a concert at Springfield High School on Oct. 27. The group was in the area on its annual fall choir tour, and performed in Sleepy Eye as well. Students from Springfield, Comfrey and Red Rock schools enjoyed the special production.

Canby News

The Canby City Council on Oct. 22 approved the purchase of new playground equipment for Central Park.
