Tyler Tribute

City of Tyler longtime employee Judd Guida has been honored with the Distinguished Service Award. Guida oversees multiple City departments while keeping Tyler’s electric system running smoothly.

Deloris Schwarz is retiring after organizing Red Cross blood drives in Canby since 1984. There are five blood drives in Canby each year.

Springfield Advance-Press 

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Oct. 28 for the Riverside Park Softball Complex and Storm Shelter in Springfield. The shelter is designed to hold 495 people and has an air exchanger for ventilation. The Better Family Charitable Fund was a major contributor to the project.

Taunton-area farmer Kevin Swedzinski is considering his options for removing an unearthed 21-ton rock from his brother’s bean field. The rock is 8.5’ x 9’ x 3.5’ in diameter.

The family-oriented Backyard Bar & Grill has opened in Slayton. Owners Nicole and Adam Rodrick have been remodeling and adding to the business since opening during this year’s Murray County Fair.
