Dec. 6, 1995 — Car trouble added up to double trouble for a Tracy family last week. Pastor Miller, returning from an afternoon of hunting last Wednesday, was in a hurry to get back to Tracy for Wednesday evening church services. So, he locked up the car and caught a ride into Tracy. A shock awaited Pastor Miller and his wife. Deb, when they returned the next day to retrieve the car. Virtually every piece of glass on the car-from windows to headlights-had been shattered. The outside mirror had been torn off and thrown inside the car. Smashed glass was everywhere inside the car and on the roadside.

Dec. 7, 2005 — Shetek Bend Banquet Bar & Grill likely won’t open until after Jan. 1. Remodeling for Shetek Bend began in September. At that time, it was hoped that Shetek Bend could open by Dec. 15. But one of the partners of the restaurant, Robert Gervais, said some delays had been encountered. For example, he said, Shetek Bend is waiting for the arrival of some equipment. He noted also that the remodeling is partly reliant upon “sweat equity” provided by investors. Sometimes construction has had to wait while partners get work done for their regular jobs.
