A 36-year-old Westbrook man died in a large fire on Saturday.
Lance Richard Larson was pronounced dead at the scene of the blaze, which took place at a farm site in rural Westbrook in Cottonwood County, Cottonwood County Dispatched received a 911 call at 3:04 p.m. on Nov, 29. The caller stated that she was in the house, and her son and father were in the garage when they heard an explosion in the shop, according to Cottonwood County Dispatch.
Larson ran into the shop, but didn’t come back out and was later found inside.
Westbrook Fire and Ambulance were paged to the scene, but the shop was fully engulfed in flames when they responded.
The incident is still under investigation. Cottonwood County was assisted at the scene by Westbrook Fire and Ambulance, Storden Fire and First Responders, Fulda Fire Department, Dovray Fire Department, the Minnesota DNR and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.
