Excerpts from past Tracy newspapers 

Dec. 22, 1955 — Redwood Falls wrestlers handed the Tracy grapplers their first setback of the season Monday night by a 26-20 margin in a dual meet at Redwood Falls. It set the stage for a return match here January l9th. Art Prouty, Dennis Campbell, Jerry Pamp and Jim Noethe scored wins.

Dec. 16, 1965 — Tracy’s wrestling team didn’t rate any individual champions but tied Washburn for sixth place against stiff competition in one of the best eight-team tournaments held at Northfield last weekend. Jim Campbell rated second place in the 112-lb. class, and Marv Kurtz took third place in the 138-lb. division. Placing fourth were Mike Holm, 133; and Keith Averill, 175. Doug Knuth, 154; and Dave Van Meveren, 165; rated fifth, and Dave Hollingsworth and Neil Jensen placed sixth in their respective 127- and 145-lb. divisions.

Dec. 19, 1975 — Walnut Grove is still seeking its first basketball win of the season after dropping their fourth in a row, 64-45, to Martin Luther Academy of New Ulm last Friday evening at Walnut Grove. Reed Wiecks was high for the Loggers with 16 points, while Joe Herder was next with 12.

Dec. 19, 1985 — Jason Pamp and Wade Landa earned firstplace medals at the St. James invitational wrestling tournament Saturday.

Dec. 21, 1995 — During the first overtime period against Southwest Christian last Thursday, Nadine Brandt, Panther junior, hit her 1,000th career point in varsity high school competition. Brandt, who open enrolled at Tracy-Milroy in the fall of 1994, started her basketball career at Heron Lake-Okabena-Lakefield. She scored 198 points in varsity games as an eighthgrader. As a freshman, she lit up the scoreboard with 303 points.

Dec. 21, 2005 — The Panther wrestling team placed third in the Maple River Invitational at Mapleton Saturday. Cole Cooreman was 2-0 for the day and won the 125-pound division, while Zach Campbell, Derek Evans, Chad Cooreman, Paul Carlson and Jordan Rolling had second place finishes.

Dec. 23, 2015 — A smothering defense and a decisive rebounding advantage helped the Panthers overcome a lackluster shooting night in a 10-point win over the Adrian Dragons. Kaylee Kirk had 23 points and eight steals, and Evy Dolan pulled down 14 rebounds in the semifinal game of a holiday tournament that the Panthers won.
