The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reported a hit-and-run crash at about 11:20 p.m. on Dec. 20 in Balaton.
The incident took place on the 200 block of South Central Ave.
Lyon County deputies and the Balaton Ambulance were dispatched to the scene, where a 31-year-old male was found to have suffered minor injuries after his vehilce was struck by a Ford truck, which had fled the scene, according to the LCSO.
The victim was brought to the Avera Marshall Hospital by Balaton Ambulance, and he was treated for his injuries and released.
During the investigation, deputies located the vehicle and the driver at his residence about midnight. He was arrested upon suspicion of Criminal Vehicle Operation and Second Degree Assault.
The indivdual was later transported to the Lyon County Jail to be held for court.
The Marshall Police Department assisted at the scene.
