Horner sentenced to 364 days in jail

Former Tracy resident Darin Lee Horner was sentenced on Wednesday to 364 days in jail and five years of probation for theft by swindle, follwing multiple customer complaints.

Horner pleaded guilty in 2025 to two counts of theft by swindle after he admitted taking money from customers between 2017-2019 without ordering or delivering the appliances they had purchased. According to court records, the money was used for things like deposits to his personal account.

Horner operated Affordable Appliance Plus until 2019.

Dozens of customers paid for appliances they never received during that time. The case was prosecuted by the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office following a referral from the Lyon County Attorney under state statute.
