Residents enjoyed a delightful change of pace this week, filled with tasty treats, meaningful connections, and favorite traditions.

The week kicked off on Monday with a fun twist in honor of National Popcorn Day. During the afternoon, residents sampled a variety of popcorn flavors, including dill pickle, nacho cheddar, bacon cheddar, white cheddar, kettle corn, and ranch. After tasting each option, residents selected their favorite and settled in with a generous bowl to enjoy — a flavorful way to start the week.

Tuesday brought a beloved classic as residents gathered for their traditional game of Bingo, normally held on Mondays. Laughter and friendly competition filled the room as residents marked their cards and cheered one another on.

Spiritual nourishment was the focus Wednesday morning with chapel led by Pastor Thor and Pastor Sahlstrom, followed by Catholic Communion led by Jan G. In the afternoon, residents warmed up with a pizza party paired with trivia, sparking conversation and plenty of smiles.

Thursday morning brought a special intergenerational visit as 3rd and 4th grade students from St. Mary’s School joined residents for reading, coloring, and crafting. These visits always bring extra joy, and this one was no exception. Later in the afternoon, residents put their creativity to work with a painting session. The evening concluded on a relaxing note with soothing music and massage.

On Friday afternoon, residents gathered for a favorite word game, challenging themselves to create as many words as possible from a chosen phrase.

Friendly banter filled the room as participants compared strategies, aimed to outdo previous rounds, and even turned the game into a rhyming challenge.

The week wrapped up on Saturday with another lively game of Bingo. Congratulations go out to this week’s Bingo winner, Laurel, along with a fellow resident who shared in the excitement.

Overall, it was a week filled with variety, connection, and plenty of moments to smile — proof that a little change can bring a lot of joy.

A special thank you is extended to the third- and fourth-grade students from St. Mary’s School for taking the time to visit and share their day with our residents. Their kindness, creativity, and enthusiasm brought smiles, laughter, and heartfelt joy to everyone involved. Intergenerational visits like these are truly meaningful, and we are grateful for the warmth and connection the students brought to our community.
