Excerpts from past Tracy newspapers 

Feb. 9, 1956 — Curt Paulsen had nine points as the Scrappers were trounced by Marshall, 83-39. It was the team’s 11th straight setback.

Feb. 10, 1966 — Earning falls in a 3215 win over Redwood Falls were Wayne Anderson at 112, Neil Jensen at 138 and Keith Averill at 175. Decisions went to Loren Greenfield at 95, Jim Campbell at 103, Doug Knuth at 154 and Dave Van Meveren at 165.

Feb. 5, 1976 — Lori Stensgaard led all scorers with 16 points for the Scrappers, while Jeanette Dolan paced Milroy with a dozen points in a 40-36 overtime win over Tracy.

Feb. 11, 1986 — Tracy was led by Steve Mickelson’s 20 points in a 63-56 victory over the visiting Lancers from Canby. Mark Peterson also reached double figures by notching 13, and Dave Christian tossed in nine.

Feb. 7, 1996 — Ryan Hemmingsen at 152, Rick Johsnon at 189 and heavyweight Grant Ludeman each earned individual titles at the annual Plum Creek Tournament in Walnut Grove.

Feb. 8, 2006 — The Panther boys’ beat Westbrook-Walnut Grove 64-62 in overtime at Westbrook Friday night. David Schmidt led the Panther scoring with 15 points, and Anthony Dolan added 13 points.

Feb. 10, 2016 — Sara Stoneberg had a perfect 5-5 night on threes to lead the Panthers with 23 points, and Evelyn Dolan was a force in the paint with 22 as the Panthers won 77-70 over the RTR Knights.
