Excerpts from past Tracy newspapers 

Feb. 16, 1956 — Lyle Engessed garnered nine points, and Curt Paulsen seven in a 55-33 loss to Windom.

Feb. 17, 1966 — Tracy’s Scrappers rolled over Redwood Falls 91-66. Hitting double digits were Bob Shoeman (19 points) and Glen Withrow (16).

Feb. 12, 1976 — Loren Knakmuhs, Curt Parker and Jim DeSmith of Walnut Grove captured individual championships in the Red Rock Conference wrestling tournament.

Feb. 18, 1986 — The Scrappers placed three players in double figures in a 58-46 win over Russell-Tyler, with Doug Hatch’s 16 point leading the way. Dru Larson tallied 12 while John Griffith added 10.

Feb. 14, 1996 — Chris Brink, Panther senior basketball player, has been selected to play on the Minnesota outstate All-Star Team after the seasons ends.

Feb. 15, 2006 — A threepoint basket at the buzzer lifted Renville County West to a 58-55 victory over the Panther boys. Isaac Dolan led the Panthers with 13 points. He was followed by Gary Knott who had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Feb. 17, 2016 — Josh Kirk had 15 points, followed by Derek Larson with 14 as the Panthers won their second straight Camden Conference basketball championship, 5437 over CMCS.
