Pair arrested in separate alleged burglaries in Currie, Slayton

Two Walnut Grove residents facing multiple burglary charges are scheduled to appear in Murray County District court in Slayton on March 9 in separate Rule 8 hearings. The charges against Daryl Wade Littell and Amber Lousie Sundquist stem from individual incidents allegedly committed in 2024 and 2026.

Littell and Sundquist were arrested on Feb. 25, 2026, in a Murray County investigation and have been subsequently charged — Littell for a burglary he allegedly committed in December 2024 in Currie; and Sundquist for a Feb. 22, 2026, incident where, like Littell, she is alleged to have entered a building, this one in Slayton, without consent with the intent to commit a crime, either directly or with an accomplice, according to the complaint.

Littell is facing four second degree burglary charges and two third degree felony burglary charges from an alleged 2024 incident at a storage facility in Currie. The second-degree counts both carry a sentence of 10 years in jail and/or a $20,000 fine; and the third degree charges each carry a five-year sentence, and/or $10,000 fine. Sundquist is charged with two second degree and two third degree felony burglary charges. The two second degree charges carry a sentence of 10 years in jail and/ or a $20,000 fine; and the third degree charges each carry a fiveyear jail sentence and/or a $10,000 fine.

According to the complaint, a search warrant was executed on Feb. 25 at a residence in Garvin, and a Murray County Sheriff’s Office investigator found several boxes labeled with the name of the owner of the rural Slayton building that had been recently burglarized. The boxes contained household items collectibles and other keepsakes.

Items reported to be taken in 2024 include tools another victim recognized in January 2025 on eBay by a store called “The Treasure Chest,” as well as a vacuum sealer, Blackstone grill and a set of women’s golf clubs. After, a search warrant was executed at Littell’s rural Walnut Grove address, according to the complaint. Sundquist was reportedly detained at the residence, and Littell was found by a K-9 hiding in an attic crawl space.

In an interview with law enforcement, Littell denied being involved in the burglary and claimed he didn’t know the items in his house were stolen.
