Highlights from area newspapers
Murray County Wheel/ Herald Slayton Friends of the Library recently marked their 25th anniversary. The group was organized by a number of Slayton citizens.
Hendricks Pioneer
A new bright, cheery sign has begun welcoming visitors to Hendricks. The sign sits under the water tower, boldly informing visitors, “We’re glad you’re here.”
The sign was completed by Dan Lawburgh’s Southwest Sign Company.
Lake Benton Valley Journal
Elkton-Lake Benton’s new head coach for the girls’ basketball team, Mallory Babb, is making waves on and off the court and was recently featured on South Dakota Public Broadcasting.
Tyler Tribute
A search warrant was completed on Oak Street in Tyler on Feb. 20 by the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force and assisted by Tyler Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and Homeland Security, resulting in the arrest of a Tyler man on child pornography charges. In custody is 21-year-old Zane Schuur. Court documents indicate that over 2,000 child pornography videos and pictures were discovered on his phone.
