The Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums will be honoring three local history projects with a Minnesota History Award and one individual with a Lifetime Achievement Award at their Annual Meeting and Conference on April 30.
The event will be held at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato. This is the 16th award year. Award recipients completed projects or achieved the criteria for lifetime achievement in 20242025.
Award recipients for the 2026 Minnesota History Awards include the Lyon County Historical Society for its Collections Storage Rehousing Project. “It’s incredible that Lyon County can now house 2.5 times more artifacts in storage. This project was an important step in ensuring their collection could be properly and safely kept for the future.”
