April 1, 1976 — Jim Trulock and Mark DeVetter each won championship titles and three other local wrestlers placed second in the annual State Jaycee Wrestling Tournament held Saturday at Alexandria. Trulock won the 80-pound division while DeVetter easily won the 90-pound division. Bob Horner (60-pound), Ton Horsman (heavyweight) and Pat McCoy (75-pound) each placed second in their respective weight classes. Two other Tracy wrestlers, Phil Gervais and Paul DeVetter placed third and fourth respectively in the 65- and 70-pound classes.
April 9, 1986 — Barry Shaw, a 1984 graduate of Tracy High School, has been selected a co-captain of the 1986 Itasca Community College baseball team in Grand Rapids. Shaw, a sophomore, sported a 4-2 record last year for the Vikings with a 3.27 earned run average. “We are very fortunate to have a studentathlete like Barry Shaw at our institution,” states Coach Mike Johnson.
April 3, 1996 — Chris Brink’s Outstate All-Star Basketball Team won both games over the weekend against the Metro All-Star Team. On Friday night at St. Cloud, the outstate team won by a score of 69-51. Brink led the team in rebounds with 7 and chipped in 5 points. Jamie Pudenz. of Red Rock Central, added 8 points.
April 5, 2006 — Local youth wrestlers participated in a regional team tournament sponsored by the Northland Youth Wrestling Association in Tracy Saturday. Teams from Adrian and Minneota qualified for state competition. Six young Panthers (Zach Campbell, Luke Prairie, Josh Coyle, Eric Cooreman, Jake Burns and Andrew Dieter) have qualified for the state NYWA individual tournament in Rochester this weekend.
April 6, 2016 — Panther softball hosted Minneota-Canby Tuesday afternoon in their season opener. Lexi Tauer started on the mound for the Panthers.
