Hendricks Pioneer

A $16 billion construction proposal would be the largest in the area’s history. If completed, it would forever shape Hendricks. The project has been closely watched by many locals, and a recent project update has caught everyone’s attention. Data center developer Applied Digital recently reported news they were “unlikely to go forward” with the Astoria project.

Nary Nordmeyer, owner of Mary’s Shoppe in Lake Benton, is celebrating 50 years of business. She works in the same building that once housed another local hair artist, Larry Lustfield.

Tyler Tribute

The Tyler Area Community Club will hold its annual meeting and 2026 spring kickoff on Friday, April 10, at The Rock beginning at 6 p.m. A baked potato bar and cookies will be offered for a free-will donation. This year’s keynote speaker will be Marshall Chamber President Brad Gruhot.

The Westbrook-Rosehill 4H Club recently visited the Amo Creamery in Heron Lake. Club members were guided through the creamery and areas of the farm.

Murray County Wheel/ Herald 

Murray County commissioners are preparing to auction off the old highway department property on Hwy. 59; the auction won’t go live for a few weeks. The County has used the site to sell surplus in the past, but never real estate.
