‘France:Visiting Uncle’s World War I Grave’ presentation is April 16
The Sons of Norway Stavanger Lodge 1-538 will hold their next meeting on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Cottonwood Co. Historical Society, 812 4th Ave in Windom.
The Annual Membership meeting will feature a presentation by Lakefield lawyer, Patrick Costello. Costello, along with daughter Isabella, visited the grave of his great-uncle, Swen Rasmussen, located in the World War I cemetery at Verdun, France. The American Legion Post 4 in Lakefield is named in honor of Swen Rasmussen.
The father-daughter trip also included visits to Normandy and Paris in France, and Madrid and Barcelona, Spain.
The public is cordially invited to attend this presentation free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
