Mylan Ray, a popular radio broadcaster for Christensen Broadcasting, will be induced into his fourth hall of fame — the Minnesota Broadcasters Hall of Fame — on Nov. 20 in Stillwater.

A pair of meetings were held at the City Hall on Monday, April 6. There was the regular city council meeting, and first there was the statemandated Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting. This allows for homeowners within city limits to dispute a tax assessors valuation of their property.

The main discussion item at the recent Lake Benton City Council meeting was the Nature Conservancy. Bob Worth wanted to talk about was the recent fire there, starting by giving credit to the Lake Benton Fire Department. Since we’ve been keeping records, I have at least 10 that have started and they all have originated — and they range in size from half an acres up to, this is the biggest one — every one of them originated at the dump,” said Joe Blastick with The Nature Conservancy.

The RTR Scholarship Fund is holding a drive-through burger feed fundraiser on Wednesday, April 22, starting at 5 p.m. in the RTR south parking lot. The scholarship fund began in 2002 as RTR Dollars for Scholars.
