Mary Timmerman, Lou Anderson, Dave Kaup and Jared Hively were appointed as members of the new Balaton nuisance committee at Monday’s Balaton City Council meeting.
The council representative will be Dylan Fricke. A group had formed in 2022, but dissolved soon thereafter.
The committee will send out letters concerning nuisance properties in the future, and committee members will update the council on its findings.
“There will be some that will be negative on this, but I’ll guarantee you the majority in the town would like to see something done,” Kaup told the council.
The new committee will hold its first meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
• There are 20 bookings for the community center in April and May combined — 13 in April and seven in May.
• The council received and adopted the final draft of the Capital Improvement Plan from ISG, with minor changes to the priority list and the financial analysis/funding sources, changes that were based on the CIty’s review of the draft.
