May 4, 2016 — There is a new sport at Tracy Area High School. With the help of Amy Rubin and the encouragement of senior Caleb Lasley, Trap Shooting is now an official sport in the school. “A lot of kids are doing it through FFA in the fall,” Rubin says. The school trapshooting season is held in the spring starting in April. Twenty-six students are shooting on the school’s trap-shooting team this spring. “We would have more team members, but it gets expensive with ammo,” Rubin says. The team has been fortunate to have sponsors this year to help with the cost of shotgun shells, which can run around $5 to $6 a box. Each student shoots two boxes per practice.
