Lanoue shines on mound Tuesday vs. Rabbits

The Panthers had just enough offense to defeat Wabasso 4-3 on Tuesday.

Connor Lanoue went the distance, scattering four hits and striking out six.

“Connon pitched his tail off today,” TMB manager James Fultz said. “The defense wasn’t always clean behind him, but he did a great job of attacking the zone and making Wabasso earn everything.”

Both teams had just four hits and committed nine errors between them.

Griffin Zick drove in two runs, and Taylor Squires, David Schuh and Jackson Kruse all had one hit. Schuh scored twice for the Panthers, who went over .500 at 7-6.

“We had a great first inning stringing together a few hits and two runs,” Fultz said. “We had chances in other innings but couldn’t come up with the clutch hit again. It was a well pitched game by both teams, we just found enough runs to win it.”

The Panthers will play at Ortonville today (May 7) and entertain Windom on Friday.

TMB 200 020 0 — 4 4 5 Wabasso 000 102 0 — 3 4 4 Laonue (W) and Squires.
