TMB loses its edge in pair of losses

Sloppy defense cost the Panther baseball team team on Monday to the tune of a 10-1 Camden Conference loss to Minneota.

Errors opened the door for the Vikings to score three runs in the third inning, and Minneota added five more in the fifth to ice the game. In all, TMB committed six errors — a season high.

David Schuh had a pair of hits and an RBI, and Taylor Squires, Brayden Marron, Aiden Sanow and Nolan Carlson each had a hit; Marron’s was a double.

Connor Lanoue allowed eight runs over 4-2/3 innings, but just two of them were earned. He struck out five.

The Panthers fell to Windom last Friday, 14-5 after allowing 10 runs over the first three innings.

Griffin Zick had two hits and scored twice.

MAY 7: TMB 18, ORTONVILLE 0

Jackson Kruse went 3-for-5 with a double, drove in four runs and scored twice, and Connor Lanoue, David Schuh and Aiden Sanow each had three hits in an 18-0 blowout win over Ortonville on May 7.

While the Panthers have played in their share of tight contests this spring, this one was all but over after one inning when they pushed seven runs across in the first inning. They added salt to the wound with six more runs in the fourth, and for good measure, they scored four more times in the fifth.

Starter David Schuh was the benefactor of 15 hits and 18 runs, going four innings for the win. He struck out seven.

Taylor Squires added two hits, two RBI and two runs, and Brayden Marron walked three times and scored twice in the rout.

CONNOR LANOUE started on the mound against the Vikings on Monday. The senior gave up eight runs, but just two were earned.

BRAYDEN MARRON made his varstiy mound debut against Windom last Friday.
