Murray County Wheel/ Herald 

The Slayton City Council recently approved a $5,094,000 Gas Utility Revenue Bond, Series 2026A that will finance a natural gas utility to be operated by the City.

Hendricks Pioneer

Members of the American Legion Auxiliary made a special visit to the Hendricks Public school on Friday, May 1. The members presented flag-themed bracelets to all school students, from preschool through 12th grade.

Lake Benton Valley Journal 

Residents of Lake Benton will see a slight increase in their water bill starting this summer. Effective July 1, 2026, the board approved a 15¢/1,000 gallons increase. The increase was discussed earlier in the year and residents will see the change on their Aug. 1, 2026, bill.

Tyler Tribute

The Tyler City Council received a request from Avera, via a letter from Avera Tyler CEO Tom Kooiman, to reduce speed limits on streets near the hospital. City Administrator Terry East said that his recommendation would be to reduce speed limits to 20 mph, one block east and west of the hospital on Highland Court and Ash Street and only block north and south of the hospital on Willow Street. The council voted to immediately to proceed with the changes on a unanimous vote.

Canby News

On May 7-8, the Canby Lancers hosted home meets for the first time in 50 years at Armitage Field at First Security Bank Stadium.
