The Walnut Grove City Council on May 11 gave the goahead for the fire department to purchase a Polaris Ranger for $4,500 from the DNR.

On Friday, May 22, Lake Benton Elementary hosted a retirement celebration in head custodian Steve Bennett’s honor. Bennett was hired at the school on Aug. 3, 1993.

Tyler Tribute

The RTR School Board voted to approve a revised school calendar for 2026-2027 at last week’s regular monthly meeting. “By adding 16 minutes to the school day, we were able to reduce five student contact day,” Superintendent David Marlette told the board. “There will be no more early release on Fridays.”

Ivanhoe Times

Lois Widmark, a 104-yearold veteran who served in the U.S. Navy WAVES as a code breaker, received her WWII medals at her home in Ivanhoe on May 18.
