Farmers Union organizations in Lyon, Redwood, Cottonwood and Yellow Medicine counties are sponsoring a COMET training June 24 in Tracy.
COMET is a two-hour interactive training program designed to help people support others who may seem sad, anxious, distracted or depressed. It was developed collaboratively by the High Plains Research Network Community Advisory Council, a grassroots group of ranchers, teachers, small business managers and others from rural eastern Colorado, along with rural mental health professionals and health researchers. In Minnesota, the program is offered free of charge.
The program begins at 6 p.m. at the Subway restaurant, 1111 Craig Ave., US-14, Tracy. A meal is available beginning at 5:30 p.m. with registration to [email protected] or (507) 626-7208.
