The Sons of Norway Stavanger Lodge 1-538 will take a day trip on Thursday, July 16, to visit the Fagen WWII Museum and Pioneer PBS in Granite Falls. A noon meal will be served at Prairie’s Edge Casino.
The Reading Bus company will provide comfortable transportation. This event is open to the membership of the Cottonwood County Historical Society and the community.
Ticket price will include bus fare, the admission fee to the Fagen Museum and the noon meal. Cost to veterans, $50; nonveterans, $55. The tour of Pioneer PBS is free. Sign-up will occur at the CCHS Museum, 812 4th Ave., Windom, until July 1. Payment is by cash or check payable to Sons of Norway Stavanger Lodge 1-538.
The tentative schedule will be to meet at the Windom Runnings parking lot no later than 8 a.m. (park your vehicle at the rear (south) section of the parking lot). The tour of the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum will be from 10-noon. Lunch will be served in a reserved dining room at Prairie’s Edge Casino, located 3 miles south of Granite Falls. The bus will return to Granite Falls at 1:15 p.m. for the tour of Pioneer PBS. The bus will leave Granite Falls for the return trip to Windom, arriving at approximately 4:30 p.m.
