Longtime Minneota resident Ed Lozinksi was killed in a car crash near Highway 68 and 160th Avenue on June 5. He was 76.

Lamberton News

Bill Quade, of rural Storden, died in a grain bin accident on June 11. Quade was found submerged under about 3 feet of corn.

Hendricks Pioneer

A first-ever Flag Day parade was held on June 14 in Hendricks, as 20 golf carts filled with revelers participated. The route led right to the nursing home for the only stop along the route.

Lake Benton Valley Journal Sydney De Vries was crowned Miss Lake Benton 2026 on June 15, earning the title after a competition that highlighted the talents, leadership, and community involvement of three Elkton-Lake Benton High School students.

The RTR School District’s projected budget deficit was estimated to be slightly over $200,000, which is considerably lower than the $395,000 that was originally predicted.
