The Tracy EDA on Wednesday approved a loan for The Gutter Sports Bar and Burgers, LLC. The new bar/restaurant, which will be owned and operated by James and Dani Johnson, will occupy the building that most recently was a pet grooming operation across from Tracy Lanes on Morgan St. There was no timeline given for its opening.
The seven-year loan will be for $10,000 with 3% interest. “I would support this,” EDA member Dennis Fultz said. “Hopefully, over the next five years, there will be a lot of extra people around the community that are going to be looking for an evening meal and a place to go to and hang out for a few hours after their construction work. Hopefully that will give them enough business to get them on their feet.”
The EDA also agreed to extend its development agreement with Arika Sanders on the empty 2nd St. lot, effective Aug. 1, 2026.
Sanders told the EDA that since purchasing the lot in 2024, she has combined what was two separate parcels into one. Her plans are to construct a duplex there.
