Yankees come up short against Rockets

The Yankees started strong against Raymond on Sunday, but the Rockets rallied for a 7-5 win in Raymond.

Milroy jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the Rockets countered to tie it in the fourth. Raymond then added three more runs in the fifth. After the Yankees tied things up in the top of the eighth, the Rockets regained the lead with two runs of their own.

The Yankees, who outhit Raymond 128, were led at the plate by Branden Flock and Jackson Hughes, who both had three hits. Brock Schultz connected on his first amateur home run and drove in three runs, and along with David and Andy Schmidt, had two hits.

Joey Liebl started on the mound for the Yankees, allowing two earned runs in six innings, while striking out six. Milroy committed four errors.

The Yankees host Minneota at 7:30 p.m. on July 8.
