Yankees, Irish win Sunday road games

YANKEES 8, WABASSO 3

Brock Schultz homered, drove in a pair of runs and scored three times as the Milroy Yankees defeated Wabasso 8-3 on Sunday.

The Yankees trailed 2-1 heading into the sixth inning, before pushing across four runs in their half of the sixth.

Austin Deutz started for the Yankees and pitched 3-1/3 innings. He was relieved by Logan Phillippe, who earned the win with four innings of work.

Eli Weedman had two hits and drove in three runs.

The Yankees will play at home against Willmar at 5 p.m. on Sunday and host Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on July 24 in their regular-season home finalé.

IRISH 7, HADLEY 3

Trevor Smith scattered seven hits over eight innings, and Dominic Dolan had four hits to lead the Milroy Irish to a 7-3 win over Hadley on Sunday.

Smith, who struck out five, had plenty of offensive help, as the Irish knocked out 14 hits. Derek Smith had three hits in four trips to the plate, and Andrew Wallen had two hits, including a triple, scored twice and drove in two runs.

Noah Knakmuhs and Moses Dolan both had two hits.

The Irish close out the regular season at Worthington on July 19. The Region Play-in series begins on July 15.
