The Tracy City Council will have a new look in 2027, as three seats will be open for the November election.
Council terms that will open up this year are those of Dave Tiegs, Jeri Schons and Jan Arvizu. Also, there will be a new mayor of Tracy in 2027, as Pam Cooreman is not running for re-election.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Burke Gardner is the only person to file for the mayor’s seat.
There are two open spots on the city councils in both Balaton and Garvin.
At the county level, Tom Andries (District 1) and Paul Graupmann (District 3) have filed for reelection to the Lyon County Board of Commissioners.
In Murray County, Tyson VanPeursem and Dennis Welgraven have filed in District 3, and Judy Onken LaBoda has filed in District 4. In Redwood County, those who have filed include Tiffany Lesmeister-Knott and Heidi Wersal (District 2), and Cletus Gewerth and Al Kokesch (District 3).
The filing period closes at 5 p.m. on July 28.
The primary election will be held on Aug. 11, and Election Day is Nov. 3.
