The Milroy Yankees were defeated by Luverne 11-1 in their regular-season finalé in Luverne on Sunday.
The Yankees, who are now 15-8 on the season, are the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Region 2C Tournament and begin postseason play against 13 seed Sacred Heart at 1:30 p.m. in Springfield.
Against the Redbirds, Milroy was able to scratch out just four hits. Jayden Remiger drove in their lone run with a double in the second that cut Luverne’s lead to 2-1. He, Alex Schuh, Brock Schultz and Eli Weedman all had one hit.
The Redbirds, went up 6-1 with a four-run third inning and put the game away with another four runs in the sixth.

JULY 24: YANKEES 8, MARSHALL 4 The Yankees treated their fans in the last regular-season home game last Friday to an 8-4 Corn Belt win over Marshall.
The A’s jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one-half inning, but Branden Flock deposited the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the first over the right field fence to make it 2-1.
The two teams traded runs in the second and third innings before the Yankees plated two runs in the fifth and broke the game open with a four-run sixth.
Flock had three hits, three RBI and scored twice, Joey Liebl had a pair of hits, three RBI and also scored twice, and Aaron Mathiowetz, Brock Schutls and Jackson Hughes each had two hits. Hughes also scored two runs.
Isaac Schmitt went five innings, and Liebl threw four strong innings, striking out nine to earn the win in relief.
