Excerpts from past Tracy newspapers

Aug. 23, 1956 — Tracy’s horseshoe team lost to Westbrook in the final round of Southwestern Minnesota horseshoe league playoffs by a 1213 to 1086 score. Whitey Engesser was high for Tracy with 94 ringers, Wilbur Paetzel had 90 and Fred Sass had 87. Archie Anderson of Westbrook had 91 in three frames.

1968 — N/A Aug. 19, 1976 — Tracy High School’s long and hard battle to find a conference “home” ended this week when the present seventeam Little Sioux Conference announced plans to accept Tracy and two other schools into the conference. Since the late 1950s, Tracy has worked constantly to obtain a new conference affiliation. Scheduling games in all sports has become especially difficult today since the school is of “ independent” status.
