The Minnesota Library Association (MLA) is pleased to announce that registration is open for the 2026 MLA Annual Conference, a statewide virtual gathering taking place October 8-9, 2026. Centered on the theme, “Supporting Each Other, Sustaining the Work,” the conference will unite professionals from public, academic, school, and special libraries for two days of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
The conference will offer interactive educational sessions, practical discussions, shared learning opportunities, and networking experiences designed to strengthen the library profession and support those who serve communities throughout Minnesota and beyond.
A featured highlight of this year’s conference is keynote speaker Kaetrena Davis Kendrick, a nationally recognized leader in collective care practices for library workers and organizations. Kendrick is widely known for her groundbreaking research on workplace morale in libraries and her work advancing empathy, resilience, creativity, and career sustainability within the profession. She is the founder of Kendrick Consulting and Communications, LLC, and was named the Association of College and Research Libraries’ Academic/Research Librarian of the Year in 2019.
“At a time when libraries continue to evolve and meet the changing needs of our communities, it is more important than ever that library professionals have opportunities to connect, learn, and support one another,” said MLA President, Liza Shafto.
