It was another busy and heartwarming week at Prairie View Senior Living, filled with games, creativity, reminiscing, and a very special visit from some young friends!
The week began Monday with a traditional game of Bingo, always a favorite among our residents.
On Tuesday afternoon, residents put their crafting skills to work making adorable pencil-shaped snack bags for some special visitors later in the week. On Tuesday evening, everyone gathered in the Day Room for story time and reminiscing, enjoying an evening of conversation and sharing memories from years gone by.
Wednesday morning, Pastor Swanson led Chapel, followed by Catholic Mass. That afternoon, residents kicked off our Oktoberfest fun with a lively game of Left/Right. There were plenty of laughs as everyone tried to keep up with which way to go!
Thursday morning was certainly a highlight of our week as we welcomed some very special visitors from St. Mary’s School. The Pre-K through first-grade students spent the morning reading, playing games, and crafting with our residents. There is something truly special about watching different generations come together. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, conversation, and plenty of fun!
Before the children left, our residents gave each of them one of the pencil-shaped snack bags they had made, especially for their visit. The fun continued Thursday afternoon with a game of Decades of Strength Dice Game. It was a little friendly fun mixed with a wonderful walk down memory lane as residents reminisced about dierent times and experiences throughout their lives.
Friday afternoon was all about relaxation as residents settled in for a movie and popcorn. Saturday brought another great week to a close with our traditional game of Bingo.
Congratulations to this week’s Bingo winner, Joyce!
A very special thank you to St. Mary’s School for bringing the children to spend time with our residents. The smiles and laughter throughout Prairie View said it all! Visits like these create wonderful memories for both the young and the young at heart, and we are so grateful that you shared your time with us.
