I was born and raised in Belview, Minnesota, and have spent my life here in the district. The last 35 years I have lived in Redwood Falls and I have built my business, Scenic City Realty, here. My husband, Corey, and I raised our four children here and are proud grandparents of seven.
As a real estate Owner/ Broker and former President of the Minnesota Realtors, I have worked closely with families, homeowners, and small businesses. That experience has given me a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing rural communities, including rising costs and limited opportunities. As a fifthgeneration resident, I understand the values of this district and the importance of having a practical, commonsense voice in St. Paul.
In your eyes, what needs fixing in St. Paul, whether it’s policies or anything else you feel needs improvement?
St. Paul needs to become more accountable to the people it represents. State government should not assume it knows best how to spend the money earned by hardworking Minnesotans. We need to examine policies that take too much from taxpayers and leave families, farmers, and businesses with less.
My priorities would include reducing fraud, waste, and unnecessary spending, limiting excessive regulations, and providing meaningful tax relief. Rural communities also deserve a stronger voice in decisions involving education, agriculture, housing, and economic development. Government should focus on essential responsibilities, spend carefully, and trust Minnesotans to make decisions for themselves.
Summarize your platform.
My platform is centered on responsible government, taxpayer relief, and stronger rural communities. I support reducing waste and overreach, providing tax and regulatory relief for families and small businesses, expanding affordable homeownership, and strengthening local control in education. Rural Minnesota deserves a meaningful voice in St. Paul, and taxpayers deserve to keep more of what they earn.
List two issues that you intend to focus on if elected.
The first issue I will focus on is affordability. I will support policies that reduce taxes, control spending, and help Minnesotans keep more of their hard-earned money.
The second is rural economic strength. I will support farmers, small businesses, affordable homeownership, and fair funding for rural schools while working to reduce regulations that limit local opportunity.
