Taylor Munson carded a career best 42 to finish in first place in Minneota last Tuesday. Munson used two late birdies to gain her first conference win by seven strokes.
She was tied for first with three holes left; she hit driver, 4 wood on a par 4 and made the putt for birdie,” coach Michael Munson said. “She then pared the last two holes, just missing a birdie putt on the last hole to win the meet by seven strokes.”
Piper Schulte came in with a 67.
“Piper hit a lot of great drives and fairway woods but struggled with her chipping and putting,” said Munson.
For the TMB boys, Alex Munson finished fourth with a 39.
“Alex was 2 over and in third place going into hole 7; he chipped in on that hole to save a par,” said coach Munson. The next hole he hit a driver into the water but recovered for a bogey.”
Trenton Johnson finished with a 53.
“Trenton has been getting off to very slow starts — He was 10 over after his first three holes, but was 7 over in his last six holes,” coach Munson said.
