“Name that Year” is designed to put your knowledge of Tracy and its newsmakers of the past to the test. Each week, we will publish a news item that ran in a past edition — maybe it was a major event, or a story about a Tracy resident — it’s up to you to determine in what year that particular news item hit the pages of the paper:
• SANFORD TRACY AND SANFORD WESTBROOK MEDICAL CENTERS WENT IN-HOUSE TO FILL A TOP MANAGEMENT POSITION IN THIS YEAR.
Stacy Barstad, chief financial officer and director of operations for Sanford Tracy & Westbrook, has been named the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. She will succeed Rick Nordahl, who resigned in March to accept a Sanford position in Sheldon, Iowa.
“Stacy’s leadership and history with Sanford Health, plus her strong midwestern values, make her the ideal CEO for serving the needs of the Tracy and Westbrook communities,” says Ed Weiland, President of Sanford Health Network.
Claire Hannasch, chairman of the Sanford Tracy advisory board, comments, “Stacy has shown exceptional knowledge of the financial aspects of our facility and has the first hand knowledge of what is best for our overall operations. I have full confidence in her abilities.”
Barstad will begin her new responsibilities effective June 4. Barstad started with Sanford Health (then Sioux Valley) in 1998 as a staff accountant.
A year later, she was promoted to Chief Financial Officer/Director of Operations and has been in that position for nearly a decade.
A native of Balaton, Barstad graduated from Southwest State University in Marshall, with a Bachelor of Science Degree with concentrations in Finance and Management. She is pursuing her Masters of Administration, Health Care Degree from the University of Phoenix.
