David Schmidt, Aaron Mathiowetz and Nathan Deutz all had two hits in an 11-2 season-opening win over the Willmar Indians on Sunday.
Isaac Schmidt struck out eight in four innings, Parker Schmidt threw three innings, and Mathiowetz pitched the ninth.
The Yankees play in Worthington at 8 p.m. on Friday and at Wabasso on May 18. Their next home game is at 7:30 p.m. on May 23 agaisnt Granite Falls.

Milroy trailed 1-0 after onehalf inning, but got the run right back in the bottom of the inning.
Dominic Dolan led off the game with a double and came around to score on a Tyler Maeyaert hit.
That was it for the Irish against Windom ace Luke Gilbertson, who struck out eight in seven innings. Windom took the lead for was a fifth-inning double by Anthony Dolan.
“We’ve got to find a way to wake our bats up,” said Anthony Dolan said. “I wish I had a magic 8-ball to tell me what we need to change; I think maybe we’re pressing a little bit. Windom’s probably going to be the team to beat in our region.”
Milroy plays at Heron Lake on Sunday and hosts Hadley at 7:30 p.m. on May 21.
